URGENT: Jet cannot remain at the shelter as he needs to be kept away from other dogs.
Jet loves human but doesn’t get on well with other dogs. WE CANNOT KEEP HIM AT THE SHELTER IN A BOX.
Jet is a lovely dog around 18 months old. Looks like cross between springer spaniel and long coated retriever.
We need to find someone to adopt Jet as soon as possible! Jet has to be the only dog of the family.

Hi, about jet. Has anyone tried working with him and the other dogs. Last summer, I adopted a dog that was extremely fear aggressive toward other dogs.because she had been a bait dog. We successfully integrated her into a pack of five through counterconditioning & systematic desensitization. It did take about a month. We got really yummy treats and slowly introduced her to our dogs on neutral ground. Then, we brought her to a common area and would walk one of our dogs close to her and feed her treats and stopped the treats when the dog went away. We did this repeatedly. Eventually, we stopped the treats, and sat with our fearful dog and everytime she sat calmly in the presence of another, even if it were just a second, we just kept saying good girl and petting her. After a month, she got it. Just thought if someone worked with Jet in this manner, he may be a litltle more relaxed until a home can be founf for him. Good luck to Jet.

Unfortunately Jets new Dad got a second job – and now have no time for Jet. Jet needs a family/person who will activate Jet, train him, give him tasks every day. Jet is the most playfull darling dog. He simply LOVES humans. He is very glad for food – so he will be no problem to train. Just give him goodies. That family or person who adopt Jet – will have the most wonderful companion, who will give his life to you!
Hi! I was just wondering whether anyone has adopted Jet yet, or is he still at the shelter? How is he doing?
I have a dog just like Jet. He loves humans, can be trusted with even the most active children, but he just doesn’t like other dogs at all. He’s a golden retriever so this is unusual. But we don’t mind. We love him to bits and wouldn’t trade him for all the gold in the world. We just keep him away from other dogs and he’s really happy.
Jet reminds me of my dog. (He even looks like him – just a different colour:)) How is Jet doing? Has he been adopted as yet? Please do update when you have the time ( I know you must be crazy busy with the floods ). Cheers.
