Do not forget Faith! (ADOPTED)

Please do not forget Faith, sponsor her!

Faith was rescued by Soi Dog in late December of 2010 while being skinned alive! Fortunately this was caught in time and she will make a full recovery.

Labourers from the North East of Thailand and Laos who live on labour camps here traditionally eat dogs at New Year. For some unknown reason black dogs supposedly taste better. Mr. Nok rescued poor Faith who was in the process of being skinned alive.

Today, Faith is a gorgeous baby and you can sponsor her right now: http://www.soidog.org/en/sponsor-a-dog-or-cat/

I will never, EVER, forget Faith! I was the one who suggested her original name be changed from the one given her when found. I am so happy she is doing well :)

She is beautiful! And looks so happy to be alive! And you’ve done a wonderful job of restoring her to health, I WISH I could adopt her, but I am in very bad shape financially. If I can get a job, I will consider sponsoring at a minimum. I love them all.

Roz – thankyou for explaining the mystery of one dog with two different names. Your choice of “Faith” is just perfect and to have her saved from being skinned alive is just miraculous. That is why I chose to sponsor Faith. She is just beautiful and so brave and will be an inspiration to all at Soi Dogs. I wish I could give her a cuddle.

how do you choose, its heartbreaking. They all deserve love and cuddles after what they have been through. To be able to love and trust humans again shows us all the resilience and love that these dogs have.l will certainly be sponsoring a dog maybe two,l will go without which is nothing compared to what they have been through.

I am hoping that next month I might be able to make it to Soi Dog for a visit or perhaps to volunteer for a couple of weeks. I am seriously considering adoping while I am there, but I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and our winter weather can reach temperatures of -40 C. My own dog Max is a short haired dog, mainly bullmastiff and Rhodesian Ridgeback in breed and I have to dress him up with boots, coat and sometimes snowpants depending on the temperature. For being a short-haired dog he sheds ferociously twice a year. I would dearly love to adopt Tomas, Faith or Humphrey but I am concerned about the climate that they would be rehoming to.
Also, do you have a fundraising volunteer for my area? I would love to help out as much as possible and I understand that many of your volunteers live in other parts of the world, with access to the internet being one of the most important assets to offer.
I also understand that Sapphire has been returned, i think that she would be a great companion for Max and I might be interested in talking to you about her as well. I can only take one more dog on…and the dog must get along with other dogs and not attack cats as I have an elderly cat here that Max adores although he would love to chase other cats on our walks.

What an incredible little dog. To be able to trust people again after the horrific experience she has had.
Is Faith still at the shelter?
