Meet Monti, this adorable young dog was found this week at the side of the road. Before being brought to Soi Dog, Monti and his siblings were cared for by UK tourist Abbie Webster & her family who comforted the puppies during their holiday in Phuket.
Unfortunately Monti‘s lower left leg appeared to be dead, we weren’t sure why. After thorough examination by vets, it was decided to amputate. Monti is young (approx 3 months old), so will adjust well to his 3 remaining legs. He’s already standing up just hours after his op!
Monti is lucky to be alive. So many people just walk past, now Monti is safe and secure at the shelter.

Hello! It is such a blessing to have so many dedicated individuals, that give their love, blood, sweat and tears to each and every animal that crosses their path at Soi Dog! I am so very impressed with all of you! I am a RN and a doggie mommy. I have had only 3 dogs in my life, in my adult life. My first dog I adopted just after I lost my baby at birth, over 20yrs ago…The second one was a doxie, who at 6yrs old she became paralzed…surgery wasnt an option because of the condition of her spine….Anyway, for the next 8yrs, I learned to become very creative and very patient….:) and now I have a 12yr old Catahoula leopard mix..I adopted her when she was about 6yrs old,.who has cancer….she had a 3×3 tumor left shoulder area…she had surgery…Biopsy showed she has a very aggressive tumor.. fibrosarcoma…It is 5 months now….No symptoms or return of tumor….She is just such a happy dog, and strong as an ox! Dogs seem to do so well with so many health issues because they dont know anything but what we show them…and with love and kindness and good care, minus the stress of worry, they heal faster and can live much longer than a human who knows too much! lol….Getting back to this sweet puppy, what you did was so wonderful…Good decision! Love this story…Look forward to seeing his progress with you!
